BIOGRAPHY: AL BUNDEL
Al Bundel hails from the city of Vallejo, Ca, home to many past and current artists such as Sly and the Family Stone, Confunkshun, E-40, the late Mac Dre and a host of others.
Al Bundel began rapping at the age of 14 under the alias “Macin’ Ass Al” and recorded tapes in the garage of a childhood friend in the summer afternoons after attending summer school. Rapping at first was only for fun so without any direction that fall Al took a break and did not write or record any raps over the next 8 years.
In the winter of 2004, while Al served in the U.S. Army, he was persuaded to rap again by another childhood friend Silas. Since that winter Al has been featured on the “Black Ice Mixtape” (2005), the “Legendz in the Making” compilation (2008) and released the “Lemon Lime Mixtape” (2009)
Al Bundel’s sound is not unlike anything that you’ve heard before. Al meshes words and emotions over complimenting sounds to give his music the appropriate feel which is needed to connect an artist with an audience. Al has covered a variety of topics from economics, politics, and government as well as the day to day rigmarole associated with living. Sharing his insight and experiences to make quality music has been his goal from the moment he began rapping again in 2004.
Al Bundel’s influences can be directly related to his environment as well as from his appreciation of the great artist who inspire him to achieve. Artist such as Tony Toni Tone, Too Short, Mac Dre, E-40, 2 Pac, Andre 3000, Jay Z, TI, Devin the Dude, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Michael Jackson and more.
Currently Al Bundel is working on his solo mixtape releasing September 28, 2010 titled “Blue Magic” which will be given away free over the internet and at all performances. His first solo album is also being recorded and set to release in early 2011.
