After years of rapping solo, in collaboration on mixtapes, and many other projects these guys just couldn’t help it. Building off a mutual respect for each others talents and creativity, their forces have inevitably aligned forming Board Of Director’s Muzik. Initially a brain child of Al Bundel, Board Of Director’s Muzik was an opportunity that Al saw to bring together two things that made him happy; friends and music. Utilizing his knack for knowing people, Al saw the potential promise in bringing together many local artists to expand and create a large, fully functioning network. Unifying the musicians first, the next step in expanding the business plan would be in areas such as music, clothing, merchandise, beverages and more. Keeping true to the independent format that has been the signature for Bay Area music, these fellas have arrived.
Realistically, Al’s idea was not totally brand new. Several rap camps have been established throughout Hip-Hop history, from the likes of N.W.A., the Wu-Tang Clan and more currently Young Money. The commercial appeal and success of these camps lead to lucrative businesses expanding beyond Hip-Hop and propelling Hip-Hop to its current status in mainstream society. Al Bundel’s idea wasn’t the only plan to come from with the group. Lord Neallion had a vision of uniting every talented artist he knew to respectively contribute devotion and hustle into creating an international force of music and retail, thus expanding the business abroad.
To accomplish any mission one must begin with a plan. Al Bundel created an actual business plan while attending Solano Community College in the fall of 2005. Upon presenting this plan to his friends the ideas were accepted but complete agreement could not be reached. Disagreements on the groups name, the plan of attack and the functions of the business became too big of a hurdle for the group to overcome. Jobs and schools also spread the group thin dispersing them across the United States.
In turn, as years passed and business stalled, the rapping would not cease. These friends continued to work together recording, releasing, and performing music. SK Magnum spearheaded the Black Ice Clikk camp in Warrensburg, MO where he linked up with Huey P. Nuisance. Lord Neallion formed the group 808 Kingdom with Ozuruu and Bones while living in Concord, Ca and attending Diablo Valley College. After releasing multiple projects and receiving varied results the business plan was revisited. Attempting to increase the support and effort behind every release the Board of Director’s was formed. Working together building from the experience and knowledge each individual gained along the way, the group strengthened and began making noise in Northern California.
Currently the Board of Director’s are working on their first project slated to be released in the winter of 2010. From within the camp, Lord Neallion is up first releasing his highly anticipated album “Tha Art of Slapp” in August 2010, followed by Al Bundel and the release of his first solo mixtape “Blue Magic” on September 28, 2010. SK Magnum will be releasing his debut album “Creepshow” in early 2011 along with many mixtape joints for the remainder of the year.
